An Emmet man was killed at midmorning Monday in a one-vehicle trucking accident in rural Nevada County.
Arkansas State Police Trooper Glendon Flowers said in a report posted online that William F. Dearinger, 64, of 315 Highway 299 East, in Emmet, was driving westbound on Arkansas Highway 278, between Rosston and the Nevada-Ouachita counties line, shortly before 9:30 a.m. when the accident occurred.
Flowers said Dearinger's 1996 West Star truck was westbound into a curve on Hwy. 278 when Dearinger apparently failed to negotiate a curve and the truck's load shifted, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Flowers did not indicate in his report the nature of the load the vehicle was carrying at the time of the accident.Nevada County Coroner William Mullins pronounced Dearinger dead at the scene shortly after 10:30 a.m., according to Flowers' report.
Flowers said the weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the accident. There was no indication in his report whether Dearinger was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was the only occupant of the vehicle, according to the report.
Dearinger’s body was taken to Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope pending funeral arrangements.
