The Blevins Hornets and Lady Hornets came out victorious against Emerson on Homecoming last Friday night Jan. 13.

 The Hornets pulled out a 48-40 win over Emerson. The Hornets took a three point lead at halftime, 19-16. In the second half, the Hornets out-scored Emerson 29-24 to take an eight point win.

In the game, Hornets' Tank Woodley led scoring in double-figures with 11 points and Travon Stevenson had 10 points. For the Lady Hornets,  they've been rolling with impressive victories on the hardwood.

On Friday, Jan. 13 the Lady Hornets defeated Emerson 44-42 on Homecoming.

The Lady Hornets trailed early having a 29-21 deficit at halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Hornets out-scored Emerson 23-13 for a two point win. In the game, Lady Hornets' Shay Thomas led scoring double-figures with 15 points, Aaliyah Richardson put up 12 points and Asia McDaniel added eight points.On Tuesday night Jan. 17 the senior high Hornets fell short to Sparkman on the road 49-44 in 1A-7 Central Conference hoops play.

In the game, Hornets' Quincy McDaniel, Montae Gentry and Woodley all led scoring in double-figures with 11 points apiece.  

The Lady Hornets defeated Sparkman 47-34 in 1A-7 Central Conference hoops action on the road. The Lady Hornets took a 19-18 lead at halftime, then out-scored Sparkman 28-16 for a 13 point victory as they improve to 13-11 overall, 4-1 in conference.

In the game, Thomas led scoring in double-figures with 16 points, Asia McDaniel and Tiffany Williamson each scored nine points apiece and Ta'Nell Barton had six points.

This Friday, the Hornets and Lady Hornets will host the tough Nevada Lady Jays and Blue Jays for 1A-7 Central Conference hoop action. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Blevins High School Gymnasium.
