SPRING HILL – The Spring Hill Bears football team wrapped up their 2010 spring football practice last week, preparing for the upcoming season in August. The Bears begin their practice working on offensive and defensive strategies used during last year. According to head coach Tommy Poole, the Bears had about 34 kids practicing for spring football and trying out some new kids at different positions.

Poole said, “we have some big shoes to fill up at the quarterback position but we have worked a couple of kids at that position. We are finding depth and getting kids in the right positions to have some establishment. Having 34 kids is a good number for class 2A football and we've been working on team stuff, our execution, and basic concepts for everybody.”

During spring football, Poole saw some positive things from his players they can build for this coming football season. The Bears had a scrimmage during the last week of practice and wanted his kids just to stay focus and have fun. Poole looks for his team to conquer the team concept of playing together and staying loose on their execution.

The Bears will be participating in some team camps this summer at Ouachita BaptistUniversity and Mufreesboro. Poole believes these camps will help his team improve and be ready for a tough season of football coming up in August. The Bears had one of their best seasons in football last year with a 11-3 overall record and perfect at home 6-0.
