BLEVINS - The Blevins High School Hornets basketball team continue to stay in the win column defeating the Delight Bulldogs 56-43 Tuesday night at home for class 1A conference play. The Hornets are 7-1 in conference with a 17-8 overall record.
In game action for the first quarter, the Hornets jumped out to a quick 20-5 lead over the Bulldogs. In the second quarter, the Hornets continued to maintain their dominance out-scoring the Bulldogs 22-8 and at halftime, Blevins led Delight 42-13.
In the third quarter, the Hornets extended their lead to 25 points leading the Bulldogs, 50-25 at the close of the quarter.
In the fourth, the Hornets stayed in command over the Bulldogs to go on to victory in conference play.
In the game, Jalen Turner led scoring for the Hornets in double-figures with 14 points, Shantel Staggers and Chris Pine each had 10 points a piece. Vance Williamson scored seven points, Sammy King and Quintin Fields each had four points a piece, Stevie Williams three points, JaCody Horton and Samuel Paxton each with two points a piece.
For Delight, Kyler Kelton led scoring in double-figures with a big 24 points for the Bulldogs.
