SPRING HILL – The Spring Hill Bears football team has high expectations for the 2010 season. The Bears are featured in the 2010 Hooten's edition and is picked to win the 7-2A conference.
The Bears will expect several returning starters to fulfill multiple positions with experience.
The Bears are coming off their best season in school history last year in 2009 with a 11-3 overall record and finishing the conference second to Murfreesboro.
The Bears advanced to the semifinals during the 2009 state playoffs. Hooten's picked Bearden to win state overall in class 2A which Spring Hill faced in their semifinals battle last year.
The Bears went the entire season without a loss at home and will take their streak into the 2010 season. The Gurdon Go- Devils moved to the 7-2A conference and is picked to finish fifth. Horatio is picked second, Mineral Springs third, and Mount Ida is fourth. Murfreesboro, who won the conference last year is picked to finish sixth.
Hooten's high school favorites to win it all in 2010 are Bentonville in Class 7A, El Dorado in Class 6A, Watson Chapel in Class 5A, Shiloh Christian in Class 4A, Fountain Lake in Class 3A. Spring Hill opens their first game against the Lafayette County Cougars on September 3 on the road.
The Bears will continue preparing for the upcoming season in summer football camp action later this month in Murfreesboro for 7 on 7 competition and their weight lifting training.
