NASHVILLE – The Hope Bobcats football team traveled to Nashville Friday, June 4, for their first summer competition in team camp action. This was the first of many football camps the Bobcats would participate this summer.
The Bobcats competed against other classifications around the state at the Nashville team camp.
El Dorado, Magnolia, Nashville, and Ashdown were schools the Bobcats took action against.
Head coach Jay Turley was very pleased of the Bobcats performance in Nashville. The camp began from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
All teams ran multiple plays throughout the camp. According to Turley, the heat was a factor for the Bobcats to overcome, but the team played hard against the other schools. “Their were some good competition. I thought we did really well but got tied. We'll have to work through our mental toughness, but overall I was pleased at the camp,” said Turley.
He felt the Bobcats execution stood out well and was proud of the way they competed. He feels they'll have to improve on conditioning, but their work ethic is good on the field.
The Bobcats will continue more summer football action this Thursday for 7 on 7 tournament play in Little Rock at Pulaski Robinson.
At this competition, the Bobcats will seek action against Lakeside, England, Little Rock Central, Little Rock Fair, and Pulaski Robinson.
As the Bobcats look forward to their next camp, they'll continue to get stronger lifting weights early in the mornings Monday – Thursday in the Bobcat Den.
