The Blevins Hornets and Lady Hornets all were victorious on last Friday night defeating Fouke on senior night at Blevins High School Gymnasium.
The Hornets pulled out a 79-47 win over the Fouke Panthers. The Hornets took a 23-12 lead in the first quarter, then out-scored Fouke 17-16 in the second quarter. At halftime, the Hornets led the Panthers 40-28.
In the second half, the Hornets exploded for 39 points and held the Panthers defensively to 19 points as Blevins went on to an impressive 32 point win.
In the game, Hornets' Tank Woodley led scoring in double-figures with 17 points, Quincy McDaniel and D.J. Henagan each had 15 points apiece for double-digit scoring.This week, the Hornets and Lady Hornets will hoop in the 1A-7 Central senior high district tournament held in Blevins.
On Thursday, February 16 the Lady Hornets will face Stephens at 7 p.m., then the Hornets are set to battle the Nevada Blue Jays at 8:15 p.m. in the district tournament in Blevins.
The boys and girls finals will be Saturday February 18.
