 JESSIEVILLE – The Prescott Lady Wolves basketball team fought tough in the first round of the class 3A state basketball tournament held in Jessieville. The Lady Wolves battled the England Lady Lions but fell short by eight points of victory, 68-60. The Lady Wolves would end their season with a 23-6 overall record. The Lady Wolves won the 7-3A district title, and runner-ups in the regional tournament, and ranked in state of class 3A. The Lady Wolves is coached by Cecily Butler.

 In game action, the Lady Lions led the Lady Wolves in the first quarter, 21-8 then Prescott out-scored England 17-14 in the second quarter.

At halftime, the Lady Wolves cut their deficit trailing England by 10 points, 35-25.

In the third quarter, the Lady Wolves made a big come back out-scoring the Lady Lions 18-9. Prescott trailed England at the close of the third, 44-43. In the fourth, the Lady Wolves scored 17 points, but the Lady Lions matched Prescott on the board to go on to victory.

In the game, Morgan Quillin led the Lady Wolves scoring in double-figures with 17 points, Shelbi Cottingham scored 15 points, Shelly Glass had 11 points, Whitney Wilson nine points, and Darby Crellin added six points.
