WICKES - The Blevins High School Hornets picked up a big victory on the road Friday night, January 22 against the Wickes Warriors, 73-53.
In senior boys action, the Hornets opened the game with a 14-13 lead in the first quarter. In the second, the Hornets out-scored the Warriors, 16-13 and at halftime, Blevins led Wickes, 30-26. In the third, the Hornets increased their lead to 50 -36 at the close of the quarter. In the fourth, the Hornets would finish off the Warrior to come out with an impressive 20-point victory.
In the game, Quintin Fields led the Hornets scoring in double-figures with a big 24 points, Jalen Turner had 20 points, Vance Williamson eight points, Antonio Finlay six points, Chris Pine four points, and Sammy King added two points.
