Once again the Hope Piranhas swim team is ready to their attack for another season of competitive swimming around Southwest Arkansas. This Saturday June 9, the Piranhas make their season debut of several scheduled swim meets in Arkadelphia for their first swimming competition hosted at Ouachita Baptist University.

For the third consecutive year, the Piranhas will host a swim meet on Friday June 15 at Fair Park Pool. The Piranhas have meets scheduled in Monticello June 23 and back in Arkadelphia at OBU June 30. The AAU State meet is scheduled June 22-24 in Texarkana. For the month of July, the AAU All-Star JO Qualifier meet will be hosted in El Dorado July 6-8.

The Piranhas also have meets in Warren prior to competing in the South Arkansas Swim Association (SASA) championships July 20-21 at Monticello. To wrap up their swim season this summer, the AAU JO's meet will be scheduled July 26-29 hosted in Des Moines, Iowa.

Last year the Piranhas performed productively against a variety of teams to finish second place in summer only small division at the 2017 SASA championships hosted in El Dorado.

Throughout this 2017 summer season, the Piranhas finished strong in each swim competition. The Piranhas competed in Texarkana, Mena, Magnolia, Hope and De Queen. Several Piranhas placed in the top five and won first place in each of their swimming meets last season.

Hope Piranhas swim coaches Karen Smith and Kimberly McMahan with Diana Hovarter and Amy Knoll return to guide the team through another challenging season.

For several weeks, the Piranhas are producing a steady work ethic during practice sessions to bring a competitive drive to compete for this summers competition. Each summer the Piranhas have welcomed a quality group of participants to represent Hope against numerous swim competitors in Southwest Arkansas.

The Hope Piranhas look forward to another season of productive swimming for 2018 as they're kept motivated by their coaches to finish strong for each swim competition this summer.
