The Spring Hill Lady Bears completed another successful year on the diamond for softball season 2018 and had four team members earn postseason honors.

The Spring Hill Lady Bears completed another successful year on the diamond for softball season 2018 and had four team members earn postseason honors. Lady Bears' Maegan Ward, Katie Rivera, Brooklyn Reed and Paige Runion all received recognition for their play during this past softball season.

Ward, Rivera, Reed and Runion all were earned All-Conference honors. Ward racked up All-State, All-State Tournament Team and selected to play in the 2018 Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Ward is among several Lady Bears in the past decade chosen to play in the all-star softball game as a representative from Spring Hill in the 7-2A West and East Conference.

This past season, the Lady Bears racked up 221 hits (11 triples, 56 doubles, 139 singles) 161 RBI's and scored 232 runs for the season. The Lady Bears also totaled for 15 home runs with Ward leading the way with seven homer's, Rivera had six home runs and Reed collected two homers.

The Lady Bears wrapped up their season for a 18-10 overall record and qualifying to compete at regionals to finish third place from the south to continue their seasons to compete in the state softball tournament. The Lady Bears finished league play third in the conference at 8-4 under the direction of head coach Tyler Welch with assistant coach David Clark.
