This Saturday at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy will be the site of the 2018 Meet of Champions event where Blevins Lady Hornet track star Jasmine Batson makes her debut to compete in the 100 meter hurdles.

This Saturday at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy will be the site of the 2018 Meet of Champions event where Blevins Lady Hornet track star Jasmine Batson makes her debut to compete in the 100 meter hurdles. Batson placed first to win the 100 meter hurdles at the 2A State Girls Track Championships in Mineral Springs last week. Batson placed first with a winning time of 17.59 be the newly crown state champion in the 100 meter hurdles for 2018.

Batson has been a state qualifier all throughout her high school career in track and field. She's achieved the high point award in several meets as well at the district track championships competing in a variety of events.

Blevins head girls track coach Mark Hall is very excited about Batson earning an opportunity to compete on the big stage in track and field this weekend. Hall believes this will be a very productive experience for his track star before stepping on the collegiate level following high school graduation.

Batson will compete against a mixture of all state champions in their classifications from 1A-7A representing schools such as Greenland, Rogers, Parkview, Conway, Bentonville, Decatur, Russellville. Fayetteville, El Dorado, Pea Ridge, Maumelle, Bryant, Monticello and Vilonia.
