The Hope Bobcats soccer team have officially cashed in their ticket for postseason competition after a big time victory in first round play in the 5A South Conference Tournament Monday evening to defeat the White Hall Bulldogs 6-4 in a shootout of penalty kicks at Hammons Stadium.

The Hope Bobcats soccer team have officially cashed in their ticket for postseason competition after a big time victory in first round play in the 5A South Conference Tournament Monday evening to defeat the White Hall Bulldogs 6-4 in a shootout of penalty kicks at Hammons Stadium.

The Bobcats trailed 1-0 at halftime to the Bulldogs, but in the second half the Cats rallied back with two key goals scored by Christian Martinez and Johnathan Garcia that resulted a 2-2 knot at the end of regulation.

During the shootout of penalty kicks, Bobcats' Adrian Dominguez, Daniel Hernandez, Aryell Felipe and Chris Torres all scored goals to secure victory against White Hall for the victory. Bobcats' goalie Ezequel Monreal provided stops in the goalie box during the game and shootout.

The Bobcats advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday facing De Queen in White Hall for district tournament play, which concludes Wednesday.

The Class 5A State Soccer Tournament will be held next week May 10-12 in Harrison.
