The Spring Hill Lady Bears competed in their final home bout on the diamond Thursday night in a tough defeat hosting Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans 6-2 on senior night in Spring Hill.

The Spring Hill Lady Bears competed in their final home bout on the diamond Thursday night in a tough defeat hosting Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans 6-2 on senior night in Spring Hill.

The Lady Bears kept it close early with the Lady Trojans for a 2-2 knot at the end of first inning play. In the second, the Lady Trojans sparked for two runs scored to take the lead for good, with one scored in the third and sixth innings. The Lady Bears fell short to score after the first inning, but defensively held Parkers Chapel in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.

The Lady Bears collected two runs on three hits. Senior Maegan Ward led the offense with two hits and two RBI's, Katie Rivera collected the other hit for the team. Rivera and Paige Runion accounted the runs scored for the Lady Bears with one apiece. 

For base running, Runion led the bases with three stolen bases, Ward and Rivera each accounted for one apiece.

In the pitcher's circle, Cheyenne Bobo pitched 5.2 innings, allowed 12 hits, five runs and one walk and threw 42 strikes. Brooklyn Reed pitched 1.1 inning, allowed no hits, one run, walked three batters and struck out one batter and threw nine strikes.

Today, the the Lady Bears wrap up the regular season schedule on the road looking to sweep their conference series match-up against the reigning Class 2A State Champions Rison Lady Wildcats. The Lady Bears won the first meeting in a four run deficit comeback victory and look to sweep the series meeting heading into regionals.
