The hometown Hope Ladycats prevailed on the diamond in their second meeting of the season against the Prescott Lady Wolves 11-5 Wednesday evening at Ladycat Stadium at Fair Park.

The hometown Hope Ladycats prevailed on the diamond in their second meeting of the season against the Prescott Lady Wolves 11-5 Wednesday evening at Ladycat Stadium at Fair Park. 

The Ladycats grabbed an early lead on its way to an 11-5 victory over Prescott in first inning play scoring on a error. In the second, Emily Zimmer, Mayra Garcia and Natalie Phillips collected singles to start rallies that led to four runs scored for Hope. Garcia singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Phillips singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Prescott's Anna Byers, Lacie Nolen, and Haleigh Wiley each had RBIs in their big inning in the second to propel the Lady Wolves four runs scored. 

The Ladycats held Prescott scoreless in the third and fourth innings with Hope soaring for one run scored in the third, then two runs in the fourth. Hope maintain an 8-4 lead over Prescott going into the fifth inning.

Prescott sparked for their final run of the game in the fifth, but the Ladycats added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a six-run lead 11-5 which stood to be the final score with no runs allowed in the sixth and seventh innings by either Hope or Prescott.

The Ladycats racked up 13 hits on the day with 11 runs scored. Zymesha Lee and Phillips all had multiple hits for Hope. Phillips and Lee each collected three hits to lead the Ladycats. Tristen Jones, Morgan Gray, Ally Fincher, Zimmer, Garcia, Gracie Gilbert and Emily Miller all had a hit (singles) apiece. Andria Curtis and Lee each scored two runs apiece, Phillips, Jones, Fincher, Zimmer, Garcia, Miller and Green each score a run apiece.

Curtis drove in three runs for three RBI's, Phillips and Garcia each had two RBI's apiece, Jones, Gray, Lee and Zimmer each had an RBI apiece. 

Prescott racked up seven hits with five runs scored. Lady Wolves' Paige Brooks and Nicki Johnson all managed multiple hits for Prescott. Heavenly Zachery, Kendall Sands and Byers each had a single apiece. Nolen, Zachery, Johnson, Sands and Byers all scored a run apiece.

At the pitcher's circle, Kaley Green earned the win for Hope. Green went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out two batters and walking one and threw 59 strikes.

For Prescott, Johnson pitched six innings, surrendered 11 runs on 13 hits and threw 74 strikes.

Today, the Ladycats will host Hot Springs Lakeside for conference play at Ladycat Stadium.

Next week, the Ladycats return home to conference play hosting longtime school rivals' Magnolia to conclude season series match-ups on the diamond for senior night at Ladycat Stadium, Fair Park.
