The Spring Hill Lady Bears took their diamond play on the road Monday evening to take on the Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans for softball action.

The Spring Hill Lady Bears took their diamond play on the road Monday evening to take on the Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans for softball action.

After a 1-0 lead advantage for the Lady Bears after first inning play, the Lady Trojans rallied for scored runs in the second through fifth innings that led to victory over visiting Spring Hill 8-2 in the seven innings.

Although it was a tough day on diamond for Spring Hill, they got things moving in the first inning. Maegan Ward drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, Parkers Chapel tied things up at 1-1 with the Lady Trojans driving in a run.

Parkers Chapel pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning with two runs scored, then the Lady Trojans scored three runs in the fourth inning to lead Spring Hill 6-1. The Lady Bears ended their scoring drought with a run in the fifth, but the Lady Trojans sparked for two runs in the fifth to give them the six-run lead advantage, 8-2.

Neither team scored in the sixth inning for productive defense, but the Lady Bears fell short to rally back in the top of the seventh to fall in defeat.

At the pitcher's circle, Cheyenne Bobo got the start for Spring Hill lasting six innings, allowing 13 hits and eight runs while striking out one batter and walking one and threw 60 strikes. 

Drue Thomas led things off in the pitcher's circle for Parkers Chapel to earn the win. Thomas allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 10 batters and threw 70 strikes.

At the plate for batting, Brooklyn Reed led the Lady Bears Varsity with two hits in four at bats. Reed collected a single and homered to add to her home run collection for this season. Reed scored a run with an RBI. Paige Runion scored a run, Cheyenne Bobo and Jada Quillin each had a hit apiece for the Lady Bears four hits on the day. 

Lady Bears' Lakin Bobo, Whitnee Lee, Keylee Lewis, Reed and Runion each had a stolen base.

Parkers Chapel racked up 13 hits with their eight runs scored with an error.

This Friday April 6, the Lady Bears are scheduled to return to the diamond for softball action hosting Lafayette County at home.
