The Diamond Bobcats returned to their home territory to produce another victory at Legion Field playing host to Hot Springs Trojans in conference play. The Cats pulled away victorious 8-6 in seven innings of baseball action.

The Diamond Bobcats returned to their home territory to produce another victory at Legion Field playing host to Hot Springs Trojans in conference play. The Cats pulled away victorious 8-6 in seven innings of baseball action. 

Offensively, Hunter Hellums was bad news for opposing pitchers of the Trojans, driving in four on three hits to lead Hope past Hot Springs 8-6. Hellums drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the sixth.

The Bobcats sparked for three runs scored in the first inning and third innings and added two runs in the sixth inning. Hope collected 10 hits on eight runs and allowed Hot Springs six runs on six hits with four errors. 

Defensively from the mound, Nate Carter got the win for the Bobcats. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out four batters throwing 26 strikes. Zachary Fields also pitched five innings allowing three runs, four walks and struck out seven batters and threw 48 strikes. 

Hellums, Aldo Gonzales, Eder Gonzales, and Carter each had multiple hits for Hope. Hellums led Hope with three hits and four RBI's. Zachary Johnson also had an RBI, Malek Randle had a hit and an RBI. Aldo Gonzales and Eder Gonzales each scored three runs apiece, Hellums and Carter each scored a run apiece for trips across home plate.

Aldo Gonzales and Hellums each had one stolen base for the Cats. 

This Friday March 16, the Diamond Bobcats return to home action with their two-game winning streak hosting Camden-Fairview Cardinals for the first of their two game series meeting in league play at Legion Field. 

Thus far, the Bobcats are 3-5 overall, 1-2 in conference play.
