The 2018 Debra McMaster Memorial Scholarship Softball Tournament is ready to underway in Hope, scheduled Thursday-Saturday, March 15-17.

The 2018 Debra McMaster Memorial Scholarship Softball Tournament is ready to underway in Hope, scheduled Thursday-Saturday, March 15-17.

Since it's debut year, numerous schools have participated to showcase their fierce play of combat on the diamond at Fair Park and Kelly's Fields Softball Complexes and this year anticipates another weekend of competitive softball action on the diamond. 

Each year, this tournament continues it's progression of consistency to grow and expand to be one of the biggest softball events in the state of Arkansas. Since it's first year in 2011 more schools have drawn interest to compete due to having a very significant meaning and purpose. 

The Debra McMaster Scholarship Foundation has had several sponsors to donate with volunteers in the community to help make this tournament a huge success since 2011. Several honoring seniors have been presented scholarships as recipients each year.

This year's tournament kicks off today March 15 with five divisions of competition that consist of Gold, Blue, Red, White and Green.

As it's been tradition through the years, a special ceremony conducted by the Debra McMaster Scholarship Foundation with several sponsors that have donated will be apart of the presentations to the chosen winners selected as scholarship recipients. For previous years, over 20 seniors were awarded $500 dollar scholarships from various schools in the state of Arkansas.

This year's tournament anticipates to be another big event with several top-notch schools of competitive softball programs ready to battle for a worthy and meaningful purpose.

2018 D-Mac tournament teams feature, host school Spring Hill, Hope, Prescott, Genoa Central, Harmony Grove-Haskell, Murfreesboro, Ouachita, Bismarck, Magnet Cove, Magnolia, Dover, Gurdon, Avery-Texas, Taylor, Ozark, Malvern, Foreman, El Dorado, Fouke, Hermitage, South Side Bee Branch, Poyen, Springdale, Cossatot River, Trinity Christian, Arkadelphia, Bradley, Paragould, Concord, Mansfield, Dierks, Ashdown, Bald Knob, Harrison, Paris, Bauxite, Rison, Lake Hamilton and Smackover.

Over 50 games is expected to be played during the tournament.
