Garrett Memorial Christian School Lady Saints softball team posted another dominant performance on the diamond last Friday evening on the road to top their school rivals' Columbia Christian Lady Crusaders 18-7 in six innings.

Garrett Memorial Christian School Lady Saints softball team posted another dominant performance on the diamond last Friday evening on the road to top their school rivals' Columbia Christian Lady Crusaders 18-7 in six innings.

The Lady Saints sparked for 18 runs on 13 hits and defensively held the Lady Crusaders to seven runs scored on eight hits with three errors.

The Lady Saints jumped out to an early first inning lead over Columbia Christian 6-4 going into the second inning. GMCS exceeded their runs in first inning to score seven runs in the second inning and held the Lady Crusaders to one run scored in the inning. After two innings of play, GMCS led Columbia Christian 13-5. In the third, the Lady Saints sparked for one run scored, then added another run in the fifth and three in the six inning. Columbia Christian managed one run in the fourth and sixth innings. 

At bat, Lady Saints' Mallory Faulkner collected three hits, Whitley Richards, Morgan Hooker and Kennedy Hamilton each had two hits apiece. Raley Sullivan, Courtney Rook, Gabby Chandler and Anna Beth Martin each recorded one hit apiece.

Faulkner drove in two runs for two RBI's, Richards, Hooker, Rook, Hamilton and Cally Sullivan each had one RBI apiece.

Crossing the plate for runs were Raley Sullivan, Richards, Hooker and Hamilton each scoring three runs apiece. Faulkner and Chandler each scored two runs apiece, Rook and Clarissa Bailey each scored a run apiece.

At the pitcher's circle, Raley Sullivan pitched two innings, struck out four batters and threw 29 strikes. Richards pitched one inning and threw 10 strikes and Hamilton pitched three innings, struck out six batters and threw 32 strikes. 

Hooker, Faulkner, Hamilton and Bailey each had two stolen bases and Sullivan and Martin each had one stolen base for a team total of 10.

The reigning AACS state softball champions Lady Saints are schedule to return to the diamond for action March 27 on the road against Northeast Monroe, Louisiana.
