The Blevins Lady Hornets took care of business on the "Paul Noesser Court" at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium last Friday night for their final home game of the season with a dominant win over visiting Abundant Life Lady Owls 71-33 on senior night.

Lady Hornets' Jasmine Batson and Diana Samuel were the featured seniors of the night went out in style for their final performances at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium.

The Lady Hornets stormed to an 17-0 first quarter lead advantage down to the 2:33 mark over the Lady Owls. Batson, Samuel with Amani Furlow provided the scoring for Blevins in the first five and half minutes of play. The Lady Owls finally got on the board with a bucket at the 2:15 mark, but a three-point play with a bucket from the field by Batson extended the Lady Hornets' lead to 22-2 at the 1:31 mark. The Lady Owls scored two baskets in the closing minute of the first period with Batson adding a basket and Furlow swishing her second 3-pointer of seven made of the game. At the end of first quarter play, Blevins led Abundant Life, 27-6.

In the second quarter, the Lady Hornets jumped out to another big lead to maintain control to outscore Abundant Life 19-12. At the break, Blevins headed into the locker room leading Abundant Life, 46-18. Furlow, Camri Kirkham, Batson, Bailey Hall and Alyssa Richardson all contributing to scoring in second quarter period. 

In the second half, the Lady Hornets ended third period with an 66-29 lead advantage going into the final period of the game. Blevins outscored Abundant Life 20-11 in third quarter play to lead by 37 points after three quarters of play. 

In the fourth, the Lady Hornets added six points on the scoreboard with the Lady Owls finishing with four points in the final quarter of the night.

For the game, Lady Hornets' Batson led all scorers with another monster performances dropping 29 points for double-figures. Furlow posting an season-high seven 3-points and perfect from the free-throw line shot 4-for-4 finished with 25 points for double-figures. Samuel and Bailey Hall scored three points with one trey apiece, Kirkham and Richardson each had four points apiece, Daisy Smith added two points and Isabella Jones contributed a point in victory.

This week, the Lady Hornets will compete in the 7-2A West District Tournament hosted at Poyen. The Lady Hornets look to capture back to back titles as the defending district tourney champs.
