The Blevins Hornets took care of business on their home territory last Friday night on senior night defeating Abundant Life Owls 68-29 at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium. Seniors' Zane Kirkham who finished with a impressive 33 points, Camdon Narlesky and Dylan Fulton who was out were the featured players of the night. The win completed an unbeaten home scheduled for the Hornets the season on the "Paul Noesser Court" for their final time to perform at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium for 2017-18.

The Hornets had no problem taking out the Owls in the early going with Blevins ending opening period play leading Abundant Life 20-10. Deandre Burton, Kirkham and Monterian Todd completing a three-point play contributed scoring buckets for the Hornets in first quarter play. 

In the second, the Hornets outscored the Owls 17-8 with Blevins soaring to an 37-18 halftime lead over Abundant Life at the break. In the second half, the Hornets never surrendered their lead dropping 17 points in third, then adding 14 points in the fourth quarter to total for 21 points scored for the final two periods of play. The Owls finished with five points scored in third and six points in the fourth period.

For the game, Burton finished with 15 points with two 3-pointers and Todd had 11 points with two 3-pointers for double-figures with Kirkham. Jonah Graham came in contributing five points and draining one 3-pointer and Corta Young scored four points. 

The Hornets head into 7-2A West District Tournament play this week hosted at Poyen as the No. 2 seed looking to reclaim back title hardware going into regionals to qualify for state.
