Yerger Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team secured a big productive victory in the previous home battle defeating De Queen, 24-15 earlier this week at Jones Field House Gymnasium.

YMS trailed in first period play by one point 6-5 to De Queen with Aniya Trotter swishing a 3-pointer and Liesha Morris scoring a basket to provide Hope's opening period contributions of points scored. In the second, Trotter and C'aiarh King both made key buckets for Hope outscored De Queen 4-3. At halftime, Hope and De Queen were knotted, 9-9.

In the second half, YMS sparked big in the third quarter to outscore De Queen 9-2. At the end of three periods, YMS led De Queen 18-11 for the biggest lead margin of the game going into the fourth period.

In the fourth, Alexia Muldrew accounted for two baskets with King and Ahyanna Gulley both splitting a pair of free-throws led to Hope's nine-point victory with De Queen held to four points scored in the period.

For the game, Yerger's Muldrew led scoring with nine points, Trotter followed with seven points, King had five points, Morris contributed two points and Gulley chipped in one point from the charity stripe in victory for Hope.
