Blevins Hornets and Jr. Hornets recent had big road battles in hoop action on the road for conference play. The Hornets came out impressive over Poyen 69-42 and topped Murfreesboro 59-12 to post a 24-6 overall record and 4-0 in conference.

Blevins Hornets and Jr. Hornets recent had big road battles in hoop action on the road for conference play. The Hornets came out impressive over Poyen 69-42 and topped Murfreesboro 59-12 to post a 24-6 overall record and 4-0 in conference.

Blevins traveled to Hot Springs for senior and junior high boys basketball action to face Cutter Morning Star Eagles and Jr. Eagles for conference play.

The Jr. Hornets fell to CMS, but the Hornets prevailed over the Eagles during their match-ups. The Jr. Hornets picked regrouped and came away victorious on the road in conference hoops at Murfreesboro. The Jr. Hornets post an 6-7 overall record and 1-1 in conference. This week, Blevins will return to hoops for league play hosting Caddo Hills Thursday night at home and travel to Mountain Pine for Friday night hoops.

HORNETS 59, MURFREESBORO 12

The Hornets had no problem handling the Rattlers on the road to post an 47 point win over Murfreesboro. The Hornets led 39-10 at halftime, then outscored the Rattlers 20-2 in the entire second half. For the game, Hornets' Kirkham led scoring with 20 points and Lane added 13 points for 13 points for double-figures. Burton and Todd each scored eight points apiece, Young and Dylan Fulton followed with four points apiece and Gomez chipped in two points.

 

HORNETS 69, POYEN 42

The Hornets came out with the early spark to take 41-17 halftime advantage over Poyen at the break. In the second half, the Hornets outscored Poyen 28-25 for third and fourth quarters to roll to an 27 point victory. For the game, Burton led scoring with 23 points, Kirkham had 20 points and Lane dropped 13 points for double-figures. Todd scored five points, Kobe Steed had three points, Fulton and Young each scored two points apiece and Camdon Narlesky had one point.

 

JR. HORNETS 35, MURFREESBORO 22

The Jr. Hornets posted a 13 point road win at Murfreesboro last Friday night. Jr. Hornets' Franks led scoring with 21 points for double-figures. Carrigan finished with nine points, Graham added four points and Nathan Foster had one point.
