Senior Rayleigh Hart stepped up big to display one of her most productive scoring night's on the hardwood Monday night to lift Garrett Memorial Christian School Lady Saints in victory over Providence 44-36 in senior high girls basketball action at home.

The Lady Saints had a tough fight early but won the scoring battle in first quarter action 10-7. Hart sparked for six points scored in the first period with Anna Kate Childress and Whitley Richards both contributing a bucket apiece. In the second, Hart scored the first five baskets for the Lady Saints in the period down to the 2:40 mark that put GMCS up 22-10. Then, Raley Sullivan and Annabeth Martin both added a basket apiece with Hart scoring a bucket under a minute remaining in first half play. Providence posted nine points in the second, but the Lady Saints marched into the locker room at halftime leading 28-16.

In the third quarter, the Lady Saints continued their spark led by Childress, Hart and Sullivan all contributing points scored to help keep GMCS ahead despite Providence outscoring the home team 13-8. At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Saints' lead was cut to an seven point advantage, 36-29.

In the fourth, the Lady Saints sparked to outscore Providence 8-7 with Becca Still, Sullivan and Hart all putting the finishing touches to score and soar GMCS to an eight point victory.

For the game, Lady Saints' Sullivan scored six points, Childress added three points, Richards, Still and Martin all finished with two points apiece.
