The Blevins Jr. Hornets had two tough battles on the hardwood for junior high boys basketball action in recent game competitions.

Over last weekend, the Jr. Hornets entered into tournament play hosted in De Queen and lost to Valiant, Oklahoma 48-35. For the game, Jr. Hornets' David Franks led scoring with 14 points, Robert Carrigan added 11 points for double-figures. Jonah Graham scored five points and Nathan Foster chipped in two points.

On this past Tuesday night, the Jr. Hornets faced off hosting the Foreman Jr. Gators at home at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium. The Jr. Hornets started out sparking in first half action to lead Foreman 16-11 at the break. In the second half, the Jr. Hornets scored 13 points, but the Jr. Gators poured 18 points to outscore Blevins in third and fourth periods combine. The Jr. Hornets fell to Foreman 29-21.

For the game, Jr. Hornets' Franks led scoring with nine points, Graham added five points, Carrigan chipped in four points and Amari Glenn finished with three points.

Tonight, the Jr. Hornets travel with the senior high Hornets and Lady Hornets to battle Mineral Springs for a three game night road stanza of basketball action. Thus far, the Jr. Hornets are 4-6 overall.
