The Spring Hill Bears had another tough task of battle on the hardwood Tuesday night on the road to face league opponent Parkers Chapel Trojans for the first of their two game season series meeting in senior high boys basketball play.

The Spring Hill Bears had another tough task of battle on the hardwood Tuesday night on the road to face league opponent Parkers Chapel Trojans for the first of their two game season series meeting in senior high boys basketball play. The Bears provided a competitive battle and effort with scoring production, but the seasoned Trojans squad prevailed for victory 79-50 over visiting Spring Hill.

In first quarter play, the Bears kept it close only having a five point deficit to the Trojans 20-15 at the end of opening period action. In the second, the Trojans dropped 23 points on the scoreboard with the Bears managing nine points just one point shy from posting in double-digits. At halftime, PC led the Bears, 43-24.

In the third quarter, the Bears scored in double-digits with 13 points, but the Trojans opened the game dropping a impressive 30 points and only adding six in the fourth quarter for 36 total points in the final two quarters of action. The Bears scored another 13 points in the fourth to total 26 points in the second half, but would fall in defeat by 19 points to Parkers Chapel despite providing high scoring production.

For the game, Bears' Payton Massanelli led scoring with a big 22 points for double-figures and Hays Martin followed with nine points for the two high scorers for Spring Hill.

The Bears will be off from action going into the Christmas holiday break, but return to the hardwood to begin second half season schedule play January 4, 2018 hosting Magnet Cove at Spring Hill Gymnasium.
