The hot winning-steak continues to roll and progress for the Spring Hill Lady Bears after capturing another dominating performance on the road last Friday night to defeat their rivals' Mineral Springs Lady Hornets 63-33 in the first of a two game season series.

The hot winning-steak continues to roll and progress for the Spring Hill Lady Bears after capturing another dominating performance on the road last Friday night to defeat their rivals' Mineral Springs Lady Hornets 63-33 in the first of a two game season series.

The Lady Bears jumped out to an explosive first quarter lead and maintained a 24-9 advantage over the Lady Hornets at the end of opening period play.

In the second quarter, the Lady Bears outscored Mineral Springs 14-9 with Spring Hill having a 38-18 halftime lead over the Lady Hornets.

In the third quarter, the Lady Bears dropped 23 points on the scoreboard and held Mineral Springs to nine points added. At the end of three periods of basketball action, the Lady Bears led the Lady Hornets 61-27. In the fourth period, the Lady Bears added two points with the Lady Hornets scoring six in the final quarter as Spring Hill roll onto a 30 point victory for their ninth consecutive victory in a row.

For the game, the Lady Bears had a balance of team scoring for contributions with Christy Randle leading the department with 12 points for double-figures and limited playing time due a big first half start for Spring Hill. Nika Cartsens followed with seven points, Momoka "Momo" Maeda nailed two trey's from behind the arc for six points and Katie Rivera dropped six points as well.

The Lady Bears open conference play at Parkers Chapel this week before breaking into the Christmas holiday break. They'll return to hoops for the second half of the 2017-18 basketball season in January 2018 hosting their non-conference rivals' Magnet Cove at home to perform the first game back from break.
