The Blevins Hornets keep their stingers in tact at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium to remain unbeaten on the "Paul Noesser Court" after another dominating performance defeating the Mineral Springs Hornets 61-23 at home this past Tuesday night.

The Hornets posted double-digit scoring quarters in the first half with 17 in the first and 16 in the second period to outscore Mineral Springs 33-16 for the halftime score at the break. Mineral Springs was held under double-digit scoring in the first quarter with nine points and seven in the second quarter.

In the second half, the Hornets put together a impressive defensive performance to only allow Mineral Springs to score seven points total combine for third and fourth quarters. The Hornets finished off the second half dropping 28 points total for third and fourth quarters combine to secure the 38 point victory.

For the game, Hornets' big man Zane Kirkham led all scorers with 21 points and just two points shy of scoring the total amount points Mineral Springs scored for the game. Deandre Burton dropped 11 points and Cameron Lane finished with 10 points for a trio of double-figures. Ernan Gomez added seven points, Corta Young and Kobe Steed each had three points apiece, Monterian Todd, Kaleb Tolliver and Dylan Fulton each contributed two points apiece.

With the win, the Hornets improved to 12-2 overall.

Veteran head coach Scott Kelton was very pleased by the entire team's effort and proud how his players have stepped up with productive defense to result with the "W".

Friday night, the Hornets return to action on the road to face Trinity Christian for non-conference play in Texarkana.
