This Thursday-Saturday Dec. 7-9 the hometown Hope Bobcats and Ladycats will make their return to the annual Gunslinger tournament hosted in New Boston, Texas.
This Thursday-Saturday Dec. 7-9 the hometown Hope Bobcats and Ladycats will make their return to the annual Gunslinger tournament hosted in New Boston, Texas. For decades the Bobcats and Ladycats have competed in this tournament to make season 2017-18 long running years of tradition to represent the south part of the Natural State against some of the part of Texas.
On Thursday, HHS both will take action in first round play in the tourney. In the girls bracket, the Ladycats face Liberty-Eylau at 3:30 p.m. for game 3. Pleasant Grove faces Texas High JV for game 1 at 9 a.m., Liberty-Eylau takes on Arkansas High at Noon for game 2 and Fouke takes on New Boston, Texas for game 4 at 6:30 p.m.
In the boys bracket, the Bobcats face off against tough Paris, Texas at 5 p.m. in their first round battle for game 3. Daingerfield faces Pleasant Grove for game 1 at 10:30 a.m., Clarksville battles Liberty-Eylau for game 2 at 1:30 p.m., and Arkansas High Razorbacks take on New Boston, Texas for game 4 at 8 p.m. in the final game of the night.
The tournament goes through Friday and Saturday with championship games scheduled at 6 p.m. for the girls and 7:30 p.m. for the boys title game in New Boston, Texas. Win or lose, each team is guaranteed three games with consolation games at Noon for the girls and 1:30 p.m. for the boys and played on Saturday.
