The hometown Hope Ladycats basketball team continues to keep battling in tough match-ups on the hardwood they faced Class 6A Lake Hamilton Lady Wolves on the road from the return to senior high girls competition from the Thanksgiving holiday break for Tuesday night hoops.

The hometown Hope Ladycats basketball team continues to keep battling in tough match-ups on the hardwood they faced Class 6A Lake Hamilton Lady Wolves on the road from the return to senior high girls competition from the Thanksgiving holiday break for Tuesday night hoops.

The Ladycats got into early scoring trouble but able to spark for production in first half action. Lake Hamilton managed to post in double-digits in first and second quarters that resulted an 29-8 halftime advantage over Hope.

In the second half, the Ladycats were to five points scored due to limited player availability and the Lady Wolves posting 18 points total to roll onto victory against Hope, 47-13.

For the game, Ladycats' Ranayzia Miller led scoring with four points, Andria Curtis had three points, Me'Ashyia Camal and Lanay Wheaton each finished with two points. Wheaton left game early due to injury. For Lake Hamilton, Jenny Peahe led all scorers with 18 points for double-figures.

The Ladycats look to regroup with several days off from action and return to the hardwood on next Tuesday Dec. 5 hosting De Queen in their season home-opener for conference play at Jones Field House Gymnasium. Then, Thursday-Saturday Dec.7-9, the Ladycats make their return trip to Texas to compete in the Gunslinger Tournament hosted in New Boston, Texas.

 

LADYCATS VS. NEW BOSTON

NEW BOSTON, TEXAS - The Hope Ladycats battled on the hardwood for road competition over the Thanksgiving holiday break against the New Boston, Texas Lady Lady Lions for non-conference senior high girls basketball action. The Ladycats showcased a competitive performance, but the Lady Lions prevailed 52-47.

The Ladycats finished first quarter action trailing New Boston 15-4. In the second, the Ladycats outscored New Boston 13-11, but at the break Hope had an 26-17 deficit to the Lady Lions at halftime.

In the second half, the Ladycats outscored New Boston 30-26 for third and fourth quarter scoring combine, but the hometown team Hope left Texas with a close five point loss to the Lady Lions.

For the game, Ladycats' Lanay Wheaton led scoring with 17 points for the lone player posting in double-figures. Sarah Willis followed with eight points, Courtney Davis scored seven points, Ranayzia Miller added six points, Jaleia Davis contributed five points and Ke'Azha Roberts finished with four points.
