Yerger Middle School eighth girls basketball team came off an impressive road victory against Texarkana 31-25 in earlier season hoop action, but came up short of wins at Hot Springs Lakeside for back to back trips.

In their battle against Texarkana, Hope trailed early in first half play for a 13-7 halftime deficit. For the second half, YMS stepped up big offensively and defensively and outscored Texarkana 24-12. YMS only allowed Texarkana one point scored in the fourth to roll for the six point road win. For the game, Aniya Trotter led scoring with 10 points for double-figures. Ta'lay'shia White scored eight points, Alexia Muldrew added five points, C'aiarh King finished with three points, Dasheunna Purifoy had two points and Ahyanna Gulley chipped in one point in their victory.

YMS hoopsters will return to eighth grade hoops on Monday Dec. 4 back on the road at Magnolia for junior high girls basketball action.
