Senior big man Zane Kirkham recently posted two impressive scoring games back to back in the Blevins Hornets victories against the Dierks Outlaws 88-60 and Bradley Bears 53-48. Kirkham recorded his career-high and best scoring game as Blevins Hornet to post 44 points against the Dierks Outlaws at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium.

Kirkham recorded his career-high and best scoring game as Blevins Hornet to post 44 points against the Dierks Outlaws at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium.

Following that performance, Kirkham led the Hornets in scoring with 34 points in Blevins key road victory against Bradley. Kirkham has posted in 20 plus scoring nights through Blevins the 11 games played thus far into the season. He opened the year of hoops with his career-high best 39 points against Emerson in the season-opener back Oct. 17 and now surpassed to break over the 40 point mark in the senior's final season.

The Hornets continue to roll on the winning trail having won their previous five games going into the Thanksgiving holiday break. The Hornets will return back on the road next Tuesday Nov. 28 to face a familiar close town opponent, the Spring Hill Bears for the "Battle of Hempstead County" part one in Spring Hill. Thus far, the Hornets are 9-2 overall.

BLEVINS 88, DIERKS 60

Blevins opened the game with an high scoring quarter to outscore the Dierks Outlaws 25-9 to end first period action. In the second, the Outlaws rallied back to outscore the Hornets 19-14. At the break, Blevins took a 11 point lead into the locker room over the Outlaws, 39-28. In the second half, the Hornets posted two 20 plus scoring periods to total 49 points to outscore Dierks with 32 points. The Hornets dropped 26 points in the third quarter and 23 points in the fourth quarter. For the game, Deandre Burton scored 16 points following Kirkham's 44 points for double-figures. Ernan Gomez scored nine points, Monterian Todd and Cameron Lane each scored six points apiece, Corta Young and Kobe Steed each had three points apiece and Dylan Fulton chipped in one point from the charity stripe.

BLEVINS 53, BRADLEY 48

The Blevins Hornets looked to sweep their season series meeting on the road against their longtime rivals Bradley Bears on Homecoming night in Bradley. The Hornets prevailed and defeated the Bears for the five point victory. In opening quarter action, the Hornets trailed Bradley 14-12 to have an one point deficit going into the second period of action. The Hornets rallied back in the second to outscored Bradley 18-12 with Blevins taking an four point lead into the locker room at halftime, 30-26. In the second half, the Hornets totaled for 33 points and outscored Bradley 13-8 in the third quarter and 20-14 in the fourth quarter. For the game, Hornets' Lane posted 12 points with Kirkham's 34 points for double-figures. Young scored seven points, Fulton followed with four points, Burton and Gomez each contributed three points apiece.
