The Blevins Hornets returned home to showcase that impressive stinging play on the "Paul Noesser Court" at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium to convincingly to defeat visiting Cossatot River Eagles 54-24 on Tuesday night.

The Hornets exploded big in first quarter play and defensively held the Eagles under double-digits. Big man Zane Kirkham led the pack with eight first quarter points and Deandre Burton having the stroke and hot shooting hand draining a trifecta from behind the arc and Cameron Lane adding a key bucket gave Blevins an 15-5 lead over Cossatot River to end first period play.

In the second quarter, the Hornets continued to display strong contributions of scoring and being defensively sound to take a 23-5 lead down to the 4:23 mark. With the Eagles stopping the Hornets runs with a basket at the 2:49 mark only cut Blevins lead to 25-7.

With under a minute to play in the first half, Hornets' Dylan Fulton made a pair of free-throws and Kirkham making basket with 13 seconds lifted Blevins lead over Cossatot River 31-14 at halftime.

In the second half, the Hornets kept the high play energy progressing and finish third quarter action leading the Eagles 43-22. In the fourth, the Hornets dropped 12 points with Kobe Steed and Burton both swishing trey's behind the arc, Lane accounting for two made baskets with Fulton splitting a pair of free-throws at the charity stripe for scoring. The Eagles were held to only two points scored in the fourth and Blevins rolled onto a 30 point victory to improve to 5-2 overall.

For the game, Kirkham led all scorers with a dynamic 19 points, Burton dropped 14 points and Lane with 10 points for a triple threat of double-figures. Gomez scored five points Fulton and Steed each finished with three points apiece.

The Hornets will return to hoops next week hosting Trinity Christian at home on Tuesday Nov.14, then an classic rival road battle against the Bradley Bears on Friday Nov. 17 in Bradley.
