Hope Bobcats and Ladycats golfers competed in their final home match Tuesday evening for 18-holes of competition hosting Magnolia and De Queen at the Hope Country Club.

Hope Bobcats and Ladycats golfers competed in their final home match Tuesday evening for 18-holes of competition hosting Magnolia and De Queen at the Hope Country Club.

In varsity boys competition, HHS Bobcat golfers Ben Knight shot 116 and Wolf Bower had a 130 on the day. De Queen Leopards finished with a team total of 364. Bailey Branson led the Leopards with a 81, Jared Hickson shot 87, Carter Rivas 92 and Jesse Power shot 104. Magnolia's Conner Harrington finished the overall top score at 77 as medalist in the boys match and teammate Dalton Ray shot 96.

In varsity girls competition, the Ladycats finished with a team score of 324. Natalie Phillips led the Ladycats with 89, Allysa Fincher had a 115, Andria Curtis and Emily Zimmer each shot 120. For Magnolia, Meghan Lindsey finished with the overall top score in the girls match shooting a 77 and teammate Katie Collier shot 95. For De Queen, Bradi Young finished the day shooting 114.

Next week, HHS golfers will turn their attention to tourney competition as the 5A South Conference Tournament takes place on Sept. 19-20 at the Camden Country Club. Practice round is schedule Tuesday Sept. 19 at Camden Country Club.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, HHS golfers were scheduled to wrap up their regular season matches at Ashdown to lead them into district tournament. The Class 5A girls state golf tournament schedule Sept. 26 at Paragould Country Club. The Class 5A boys state golf tournament takes place on Tuesday Oct. 4 hosted at the Hot Springs Country Club.
