Hope High School golf team competed in their first season away match last week against the De Queen Leopard and Lady Leopard golfers at the De Queen Country Club.

Hope High School golf team competed in their first season away match last week against the De Queen Leopard and Lady Leopard golfers at the De Queen Country Club. For two varsity matches, De Queen's Bailey Branson and Bradi Young earned medalist honors.

De Queen Leopards finished with a team total of 136 led by Branson shooting a 36, teammates Jared Hickson shot 46, Jesse Power 54 and Carter Rivas finished with 56. For the Bobcats, Kobe Watson shot 55, Ben Knight 58 and Wolf Bower finished with 76 in the boys varsity match.

For varsity golf match competition, the Ladycats totaled for a team score of 242. Ladycat golfer's Andria Curtis shot 77, Ally Fincher finished with 81 and Emily Zimmer rounded out the team with 84. For De Queen, Young shot 49 with the overall top in the girls match and Halle Gentry finished with 77.

HHS golfers are scheduled to return to varsity match competition at home Aug. 15 hosting Arkansas High-Texarkana and Ashdown at the Hope Country Club.
