Hope High School Bobcat and Ladycat golfers got back to action on the golf Tuesday morning to host Arkadelphia in two varsity matches at the Hope Country Club to open the 2017 season.

Hope High School Bobcat and Ladycat golfers got back to action on the golf Tuesday morning to host Arkadelphia in two varsity matches at the Hope Country Club to open the 2017 season.

In varsity boys match, Arkadelphia defeated Hope by 42 strokes. Tucker Freeman for Arkadelphia was medalist in the boys match and shot 47. For Hope, Kobe Watson shot 57, Ben Knight 58 and Wolf Bower finished with 76 for a team score of 191. Arkadelphia's Parker Davis shot 50, Payton Edington 52, Dusty McMillian 55 and
Austin Edington finished with 62 for a team score of 149.

In varsity girls match, Arkadelphia's Miranda Raney was medalist in the girls match. She shot 58 for the top score in the varsity girls match. Faith Ochello shot 61 for Arkadelphia. For Hope, Ally Fincher shot 73, Andria Curtis had 88 and Emily Fincher finished with 89 for a team score of 250.

This Thursday, HHS golf teams return to the golf course for varsity boys and girls matches in their first road match at De Queen. The original scheduled date for this match was set for Monday, then rescheduled for today, but changed to Thursday.

This weekend on Saturday August 5, HHS golf teams will host their annual Bobcat Charity Golf Scramble at the Hope Country Club. Tee time is 9 a.m.
