The Hope High School Bobcat varsity cheerleaders attended 2017 National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) cheer camp in Arkadelphia hosted at the Charles D. Dunn Recreation Student Center on the campus of Henderson State University last week. This four day camp was scheduled July 16-19.

HHS cheer squad brought back home numerous honors, awards and received special recognition for performances and work ethic while attending camp in Arkadelphia. Keeping a longtime cheer camp tradition for another consecutive summer, HHS cheerleaders received a bid to NCA Nationals and earned several team honors and individuals awards.

According to HHS head cheer coach Kirby Turner, the Bobcat cheerleaders did an amazing job during their time attending camp. This was the first time HHS cheerleaders traveled to Arkadelphia for camp. The previous two years, HHS attended a performance camp hosted in Little Rock at the Marriott Hotel State House Convention Center and the University of Arkansas Little Rock campus.

For several past years, the HHS cheerleaders have traveled to Louisiana for camp at NSU in Natchitoches, LA. HHS racked up several awards and honors during their time and participation at NCA cheer camp in Louisiana.

Coach Turner was very pleased about the team's production at camp during her time as HHS head cheer coach. She thought the squad represented Hope well among several teams present during camp. Since this year to travel to Arkadelphia, HHS cheer squad had another phenomenal experience and very honored as a team to be apart among several schools participating at camp. Other schools represented included Warren, Alma, Benton, Rison, Sylvan Hills, McClellan, Marvell Elain.
