The Hope Ladycats secured a big victory on the diamond Tuesday night in road softball competition against the Hot Springs Lady Trojans 21-3 to break into the conference winning trail and snapping a three-game losing skid.

The Hope Ladycats secured a big victory on the diamond Tuesday night in road softball competition against the Hot Springs Lady Trojans 21-3 to break into the conference winning trail and snapping a three-game losing skid.

Hope scored 10 runs in the second inning. Hope scored on a stolen base by Morgan Gray, a walk by Andria Curtis, a walk by Raley Potter, a stolen base, a single by Shelby Adams, a walk by Gray, a walk by Kaley Green, and a walk by Zahria Woods.

Potter earned the win for Hope from the pitcher's circle. She pitched three innings, surrendering three runs, four hits, striking out six batters, walking one and threw 41 strikes.

At the plate, Adams went 3-4 at bat to lead the team with three runs batted in. Adams had three hits (singles), three RBI's and scored three runs. Tatyanna Smith scored three runs, had one hit with two RBI's, Curtis scored a run with one RBI, Potter scored three runs, had one hit with an RBI. Shakira Ellis scored two runs with an RBI, Nikeya Harris scored one run, Tristen Jones scored three runs, had one hit with two RBI's, Gray scored two runs with one hit and two RBI's, Kaley Green scored one run, had one hit and two RBI's and Woods scored two runs with one RBI.

The Ladycats scored 10 runs in the first and second innings and one run in the third. Hot Springs crossed the plate once in the first inning and two in the third inning. Hope collected a season high 21 runs, with eight hits and defensively allowing Hot Springs three, four hits and four errors.

This Thursday Mar. 16, the Ladycats enter into tourney competition as they'll compete against Fouke at 6 p.m. at Ladycat Stadium in the 2017 Debra McMaster Memorial Scholarship Softball Tournament hosted in Hope. The D-Mac softball tournament is scheduled Mar. 16-18.

On Friday night Mar. 17, the Ladycats return to conference play in their regular softball schedule to face Camden-Fairview Lady Cardinals on the road in Camden.
