The Hope Ladycats finished out the week of action hosting their school rivals' Magnolia Lady Panthers on Friday night for conference softball play at Ladycat Stadium.

The Hope Ladycats finished out the week of action hosting their school rivals' Magnolia Lady Panthers on Friday night for conference softball play at Ladycat Stadium.

The Ladycats battled hard, but Magnolia came away victorious 20-1 in three innings. Magnolia sparked in the first inning scoring 10 runs, then four in the second inning and six in the third.

Ladycats' Tatyanna Smith recorded her first home run of the season in the third inning, went 2-2 at the plate at bat with an RBI and one stolen base for Hope.

Caitlyn McCormack earned the win for Magnolia. She tossed three innings, giving up one run, four hits, striking out five, and walking zero. The Lady Panthers totaled for 10 hits on the day with the Ladycats recording four hits. Brianna Cole and Tristen Jones had a single apiece for Hope. At the pitcher's circle, Kaley Green pitched three innings and threw 37 strikes against Magnolia.

The Ladycats return to the diamond next week on Tuesday March 14 on the road against the Hot Springs Lady Trojans.
