As a result, the Lady Hornets now officially have clinch a spot in the Class 2A state tournament next week.

Blevins head coach Mark Hall continues to praise his Lady Hornets play as they've created a winning-streak to display productive play on the hardwood.

The Lady Hornets had to fight hard against a good Rison Club that saw their star player Katelyn Mason soar to 27 points as the game's high-scorer in defeat. Blevins' showcased another balance of scoring to contribute to their win.

Jasmine Batson led the Lady Hornets with 18 points, Madsion Hall followed with 15 points and Amani Furlow scored 14 points for Blevins triple-threat double-figure performances. For game action, the Lady Hornets had a early deficit and twice tied with Rison in first quarter action. Down to the 3:38 mark, a three-point play from Batson give Blevins the lead at 8-6, but at the conclusion of first period play, Rison led the Lady Hornets 12-10.

In the second quarter, Rison continued to spark and took a 18-14 lead down to the 5:24 mark. Following a basket from Madison Hall, Bailey Hall stepped up the drain a 3-pointer at the 4:10 mark to give the Lady Hornets a slight one point lead 19-18.

Rison knotted the game at 19-19 splitting a pair of free-throws, then scoring a basket to take a 21-19 lead with 2:14 to play in the first half. Camri Kirkham sank a shot to tie the game at 21-21.

 With Rison regaining the lead 24-21, in the closing seconds of first half action, Batson made a pair of free-throws to pull Blevins within one point, then Furlow swished a trifecta from behind the arc to give the Lady Hornets a 26-24 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Hornets found some momentum and took a 39-33 lead to end third quarter play. Furlow swished two 3-pointers and Batson completed a three-point play and scored two baskets from the field to boost Blevins third quarter surge against Rison.

In the fourth, the Lady Hornets never lost their lead and posted 18 points on the scoreboard and held Rison under double-digits with nine points in the finale period.

For the game, Bailey Hall contributed five points, Diana Samuel scored three points and Kirkham finished with two points for the Lady Hornets.

Blevins will play in the 2A South Regional Tourney semifinals on Friday night at 7 p.m. against the winner of Camden Harmony Grove vs. Murfreesboro game at Magnet Cove.

Thus far, the Lady Hornets improve to 31-9 overall and rolling on a five game winning-streak.
