Garrett Memorial Christian School basketball teams secured big road victories over the weekend in Little Rock and Hot Springs for varsity and junior varsity girls and boys basketball action.

Garrett Memorial Christian School basketball teams secured big road victories over the weekend in Little Rock and Hot Springs for varsity and junior varsity girls and boys basketball action. GMCS Jr. Saints and Jr. Lady Saints came out victorious over Southwest Christian Academy in junior varsity hoops in Little Rock. For varsity action in senior high competition, the Lady Saints continue their unbeaten season defeating SCA, but the Saints fell short in boys play.

Then on Saturday, the Jr. Saints competed in tournament action hosted at Christian Ministries Academy in Hot Springs and went 3-1 in tourney competition. As a result, the Jr. Saints advanced to the championship bout defeating Saline off a buzzer beater from Ty Watkins making the game winning shot. The Jr. Saints went onto win the CMA Invitational. This week, the Saints and Jr. Saints have home battles hosting Gospel Light and Premier.

JV Girls

Jr. Lady Saints defeat SCA 42-17

For the game, Sarah Hamilton led scoring with 15 points, Kennedy Hamilton and Ashlynn Hart each scored six points apiece, Anna Kate Childress scored four points, Raley Sullivan added three points, Whitley Richards and Libby Tyson finished with two points apiece.

 

JV Boys

Jr. Saints defeat SCA 54-34

For the game, Jordan Keener led scoring with 15 points for double-figures, Sergio Luna scored nine points, Will Zumwalt and Ty Watkins each scored six points apiece, Sam Gilmer had five points, Mathew Lloyd had four points, Colton Phillips finished with three points and Alex Peek contributed two points.

 

Varsity Girls

Lady Saints defeat SCA 46-31

For the game, Morgan Peek led scoring with a big 21 points for double-figures, Whitley Richards followed with nine points, Sarah Hamilton added six points, Rayleigh Hart and Anna Kate Childress both scored four points apiece and Jacklyn Winfield had two points.

 

Varsity Boys

Saints lost to SCA 74-46

For the game, Colton Phillips and Keener led with 11 points apiece for double-figures, John Carlin had nine points, Watkins, Cole Storey and Tyler Fleming each scored four points apiece, Cole Clements added two points and Zane Walker chipped in a point.

Game 1

Jr. Saints defeat CMA 54-14

For the game, Ty Watkins led scoring with 14 points, Will Zumwalt had 12 points and Keener had 10 points for double-figures. Phillips added eight points, Peek scored six points and Lloyd had four points.

 

Game 2

Jr. Saints lost to Saline County Home School 48-40

For the game, Phillips led scoring with a impressive 21 points for double-figures, Zumwalt and Watkins each had six points apiece and Lloyd finished with seven points.

 

Game 3

Jr. Saints defeat Life Way Christian 34-22

For the game, Phillips led scoring with 12 points for double-figures, Watkins scored nine points, Keener added seven points, Lloyd had four points and Grayson Chambless had two points.

Jr. Saints defeat Saline County Home School 44-42

For the game, Phillips led scoring with 13 points and Gilmer posting 11 points for double-digits, Zumwalt and Watkins each had nine points apiece and Lloyd with two points.
