Blevins Jr. Hornets had a tough and competitive battle on the hardwood for their season home-opener hosting Sparkman Jr. Raiders at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium. The Jr. Hornets kept to close the entire first half of action tied 13-13 at the end of the first quarter, then led by one point at halftime over Sparkman 27-26.

In the second half, the Jr. Hornets made the difference to out-score Sparkman with a 40-32 advantage at the end of the third, then Blevins soared to victory in the fourth scoring 13 points despite the Jr. Raiders dropping 15 points in the finale period of action. The Jr. Hornets went onto victory over Sparkman 53-48.

For the game, David Franks and Alex Jones both displayed impressive scoring performances for Blevins. Franks led with a big 24 points and Jones dropped 20 points for a duo of double-digits.

Tonight, the Jr. Hornets return to action at home to face Taylor to tip-off a three game night stanza at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium. Thus far, the Jr. Hornets improve to 2-1 overall.
