After a tough season opening loss to Bradley, the Blevins Jr. Hornets turned their play around in their next battle for domination mode to defeat Sparkman Jr. Raiders 63-20 to begin hoops year 1-1 overall.

After a tough season opening loss to Bradley, the Blevins Jr. Hornets turned their play around in their next battle for domination mode to defeat Sparkman Jr. Raiders 63-20 to begin hoops year 1-1 overall. Jr. Hornets' David Franks was key for a spectacular junior high performance to lead Blevins in victory for a career-high 31 points.

The Jr. Hornets exploded out in first quarter action for a 20-4 advantage after period number one. In the second, the Jr. Hornets out-scored Sparkman 25-6. At halftime, Blevins led Sparkman 45-10.

In the second half, the Jr. Hornets out-scored the Jr. Raiders 18-10 for third and fourth quarter scoring. The Jr. Hornets rolled onto a 43 point victory for their first win thus far into the 2016-17 basketball season.

The Jr. Hornets are scheduled to return to the hardwood Tuesday Nov. 8 for their season home opener hosting Sparkman to tipoff a stanza of games at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium.
