Blazing back on the field with power hitting in pads, the Hope Bobcats went back to work to begin their spring football workouts on the Monday, in preparation for the 2013 season.

Five RBIs on two homeruns from David Harris and 10 combined strikeouts from James Baune and Justin Thomas propelled the No.3-seed Southern Arkansas baseball team to a 6-1 win over No.4-seed Missouri Western in the opening game of the 2013 Central Region Tournament in Mankato, Minn. on Thursday afternoon.

Hope High School First Flight Trap team recently qualified for state on May 11 in Lonoke. Trap team members are - Riley Smith, Tristan Sitzes, Nathan Phillips,Chase Jones and Hunter Sinyard. State competition is June 1 in Lonoke. Coach is Roy Whatley.

The Spring Hill Lady Bears continue to show no mercy on the diamond as they bulldozed through the competition in Norphlet to capture the 2A -South Regional title on Tuesday, in total domination over Woodlawn 13-3 in five innings in one of their impressive run ruled victories for 2013.

The dramatic walk-off homerun that won the inaugural 2012 Great American Conference Baseball Tournament a year ago was not needed this year for the top-seeded Southern Arkansas baseball team, but the result was much of the same as the Muleriders cruised to an 11-2 win over Arkansas-Monticello to capture their second straight GAC Tournament Championship.
