One of the biggest steps for the Hempstead County Connected Communities initiative recently took place, according to UACCH Director of Telecommunications Dave Phillips. They recently received a donation 60 to 80 used computers, from the School of Math and Science in Hot Springs, to forward the idea of broad band and internet use within the county.

The first phase of the new $4 million Spring Hill Elementary School that adjoins the existing fifth and sixth grade rooms is complete and ready for students.
The Blevins School Board will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. to discuss a classified reduction in force policy. Superintendent Randy Treat said the policy is a further explanation.
