BODCAW--Coach Ricky Wayne Smith, 48, of Bodcaw, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at his home. He was born December 11, 1960, in Longview, Texas, to Rufus and Gay Cobb Smith. He was a former teacher and coach and an employee of Smith Redi-Mix of Nashville. He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Smith, and one brother, Bryan Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Rawlings Smith; one stepson, Brandon Rawlings, both of Bodcaw; his mother, Gay Cobb Gibson, of Hope; two brothers, Phil Smith, of Hope, and Tony Gibson, of Patmos; four sisters, Tereasa Formby, of Patmos, Cathy Smith, Rhonda Gibson, and Vhonda Davidson, all of Hope, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope with Harley Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in Westmoreland Cemetery in Crossroads Community, Fulton. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, in Hope.
