HOPE--Marjorie Nell Stone, 71, of Hope, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Hope. She wa born November 18, 1937, to Henry A. and Lena Mary Stevenson Whatley in El Dorado. She was retired from Shanhouse and Cornbelt Hatchery, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Dwight, and James Whatley; by one sister, Sue Gray, and by one granddaughter, Tara Dyer.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Stone, of Hope; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Carla Stone, and Dwayne and Belinda Stone, all of Hope, and Chris and Kari Stone, of Emmet; two daughters, Debbie Stone and Alecia Wicks, both of Hope; one brother, Clifford Whatley, of Spring Hill; 10 grandchildren, including Bobby Stone, Brad Stone, Amy Stone, and Beth Stone, all of Hope, Lane Stone, of Emmet, and Kevin and Kohner Wicks, of Hope, and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kaylie, and Tatum.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 22, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home of Hope, with Brother Mark Faulkner officiating. Interment followed at Anderson Cemetery in Spring Hill.
