Larry Gene Hazal, 69, of Camden, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at a Ouachita medical center. He was born March 19, 1941, in Celeste, Texas. He was salutatorian at Celeste High School in 1959 and attended Texas A & M University, and was a retired professor from SAU Tech.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Eugene Hazel; and his wife, wife, Susan A. Hazal.
He is survived by his daughters, Theresa Dowell and Ginger Ferrell, both of Hope; a sister, Mary Lou Hazal, and mother, Eupha Smith Hazal, both of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren, Jeremy Warren, of Camden, Jerret Warren, Autumn Harrison, Will Hartness, Evan Hartness, J. D. Ferrell and Ben Ferrell, all of Hope; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday, July 29, at Pike Cemetery in Celeste, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. Wednesday, July 28, at the funeral home.
