Helen Hazzard Morton,  93, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010. She was born July 24, 1916, in Laneburg.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Tom Morton, of Lovington, N.M. and her brothers, Medford Hazzard, of Hope, Alvis Hazzard, of Farmington, N.M., Paul Hazzard, of Watsonville, Calif., Powell Hazard, of Dewitt, Imon Hazzard, of Mineola, Texas, Gilbert Hazzard, of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Nora Hazzard McGregor, of Tucson, Ariz; and four siblings that died young.
She is survived by one sister, Norma Jean HazzardDelaney, of Hope; and two sons, Ron Morton and wife, Jenny, and dog, Murphee, of Boise, Idaho, and Gary Morton and wife, Freda, of Utopia, Miss.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her.
She spent many happy years in Lovington, New Mexico, where she and her husband, Tom, raised their two sons.
Later she moved to Tucson to be near her sister and then she moved to Phoenix where she was a resident of the Baptist Village retirement community for 15 years. Helen, the angel of the family, made everyone that met her a better person. Her inner beauty is not found easily on this Earth and as a true angel she is in her rightful place and they are rejoicing in Heaven that she has returned.
Arrangements were by Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, Ariz.
