Phillip Isaiah Artis, 57, died on Monday, December 28, 2009 in his home. He was born on August 21, 1952. He was disabled.
He was preceded in death by his father Fred Artis, Sr.
Survivors include three sons, Bathlonyu Hubber, of St. Louis, Mo., Wilco Artis, of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Tanya Artis of St. Louis, Mo.; his mother, Velma Chears Artis, of Hope; two brothers, Fred Artis Jr., of Hope; and Eugene Artis and wife Keturah, of Hope; two sisters, Lucinda Ames and husband Simeon, of Hope and Patricia Ann Whiteside and husband Robert, of Greenville, Penn.; maternal grandmother, Mary Chears, of Coshocton, Ohio, and five grandchildren.
 Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 15, in the Chapel of Brandon’s Mortuary in Hope. Elder Simeon Ames, eulogist of the House of Jacob, will officiate. Burial will be at Cave Hill Cemetery II in Hope.
